Slimfast shakes. The cabbage soup diet. The low carb diet. Maybe you have tried one or more of these
diets in your lifetime. What were your results with them?
I don't really think a human being can survive more than one month on these diets. I know I couldn't. It
seems that you gain the weight back just as fast as you lost it. The reason is because they tell you to restrict what you
eat. Sure you can have a chocolate shake for breakfast and lunch. But what does that do for your cravings
of sugar and chocolate? And next to the Canadian Food Guide, can this shake really take the place of all
those foods and nutrients that you are supposed to be eating? Even if it claims to, I think I'd rather eat the actual food.
The weight that people lose when they lose weight quickly is water weight and muscle weight. It isn't fat.
The body just can't lose fat that quickly. When the body is on the healthiest diet and exercise routine, the most fat it
will lose is 3 pounds a week. That's it. But the upside to this is that the 3-6 months that it takes to lose weight naturally
will give your mind the proper time to emotionally adjust to getting slimmer. When you are eating healthier and exercising
on a daily basis, you can breathe better, sleep better, walk faster, and be more alert and lively during the day. You don't
get any of these effects from going on fad diets. What's more, a constant effort into fad dieting can redistribute your
weight so you gain it back in different and unusual places.
So stick to the long and healthy road. In the end, you'll get a much bigger reward from it :)
